About the Shop Name: "Caritas Dei" means the charity (perfect love) of God. God invites us to a relationship with Him. Personal prayer is our response to that invitation. It is a drawing near to the heart of God where we express our love for Him and allow ourselves to be loved by Him. In the words of St. Catherine of Siena, “Charity is the sweet and holy bond which links the soul with its Creator: it binds God with man and man with God." Pope Francis said, “It is more difficult to let God love us than to love Him! The best way to love Him in return is to open our hearts and let Him love us... Let Him draw close to us and feel Him close to us. This is really very difficult: letting ourselves be loved by Him. And that is perhaps what we need to ask today ... ‘Lord, I want to love You, but teach me the difficult science, the difficult habit of let ting myself be loved by You, to feel You close and feel Your tenderness ! May the Lord give us this grace.”
About the Shop Owner: I am a wife and mother, a lover of Our Lord and of beauty. I love how beauty lifts my heart to God. I love designing and creating. As a creative person, who seemed to be born making things, I love to make things beautiful. It brings a warmth and joy to the world that is irreplaceable. I see my creativity as a sharing in God's creative action. It is a gift from Him! I love to make things for people, imaging the simple joy they will have in wearing it. I usually design with a cup of coffee near by and many interruptions from my daughter. The religious jewelry is designed to inspire devotion and made for everyday wear. Once blessed by a priest, it becomes a sacramental and a means of grace in people lives. The accessories for women are designed and made to compliment the beauty of the women that wear them. The accessories for babies are cute and fun to make. Caritas Dei also makes available reproduction medals and rosary parts cast from old medals from a time long ago. Caritas Dei has over 100 medals in their own collection.
The world needs the true, the good, and the beautiful. These speak to the heart and through grace lead us to God.
